Library and Technology News

Stop by the library and check out the class books that our first and second graders composed giving their tips and advice on how to care for our library books!  Second graders based their advice on the Mo Willems book “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” changing it to “Don’t Let the Pigeon Touch the Book!”

Students in the library technology enrichment classes started off the year learning about Digital Citizenship and how they can make safe and responsible choices while using the Internet.  We used a variety of resources including Common Sense Media, NetSmartzKids, and Surf Online Safely.

All of our third through fifth graders have access to Chromebooks for use in the library and classrooms for research and writing.  During their library time, students were instructed in how to log onto their accounts and can now access their work on Google Drive. The library was the recipient of ten Chromebooks through a generous donation by The Sanders Institute.  The donation will be put to good use by our students for several years to come!  Thank you Senator Sanders!

Our technology enrichment classes received funds from a grant through VASE (Vermont Academy of Science and Engineering) at UVM to purchase a set of robotics for use in the library.  Students will learn coding and problem solving skills while using these fun and engaging robots!  We will keep you updated as the year progresses.
