Multiplication Art in Second Grade Math

Second graders have been studying the foundations of multiplication. Some of the skills students have been working on are being able to create arrays, and to write repeated addition equations for their arrays.

 To practice these skills students created buildings with array windows and wrote repeated addition equations. All of the buildings created our "Array City." 

Students also created “arrays of sunshine” where they practiced partitioning a rectangle into rows and columns, and writing repeated addition facts.
