Centennial Woods trip, grade 2

Second grade scientists in Mrs. Bellavance and Ms. McMorris's class have taken to the woods. For the past two Fridays, they have walked to Centennial Woods, a 67-acre forest owned by UVM, to explore the forest habitat.

They are researching the variety of living things that can be found in the forest habitat. Children were inspecting under logs, listening for birds and insects, and looking up to see what lives at the top of the forest.

Using iPads and observational drawings, children documented their findings.

They are working with a partner to create an eBook to share their research about how animals and plants in the forest depend on their environment.
