Celebrating the Season!

Edmunds Elementary students are celebrating this winter season in a variety of ways in their classes. Family, food, lights, and giving are involved in so many holidays at this dark time of the year. Here are some of the many ways students are creating and celebrating the joy!

In the Kindergarten classes, students hunted for a gingerbread man who had run away and hidden under Dr. Mathias's desk! During music class, Kindergarten students were learning to sing winter songs.

After reading a variety of gingerbread stories, first graders in Ms. O'Brien's class decorated gingerbread people using lots of candy, with amazingly beautiful and delicious results.

Ready and waiting!
Voila! It's a match to the book cover!
The short light and long night of the Winter Solstice were observed in Mrs. Quinn's classroom, where students made gorgeous illuminated lanterns to light the darkness.

The whole first grade has been crafting, making watercolor paintings, snowflakes, and weavings.

It may not look like snow yet outside, but you would never know it from in the classrooms!

From all of us here at Edmunds Elementary, have a safe and wonderful vacation!
